Bulgarian police detain driver for violent assault on Trakia highway

On 5 August, police on the Trakia motorway in Bulgaria detained a driver from Plovdiv after a 112 call reported aggressive behavior. The suspect cut off another vehicle, forced the driver to stop and smashed both the front and rear windows of the victim's car. Officers located the vehicle near kilometre 56, the driver confessed and was held for up to 24 hours at the Ihthiman district police station. The case adds to a series of recent road‑aggression incidents on Bulgarian highways.

Authorities said the investigation will continue to determine any further charges related to the assault.
