Bulgarian political analyst criticizes VP candidate Georgi Kandev
Political analyst Prof. Rumyana Kolarova has issued a harsh assessment of Georgi Kandev, the vice-presidential candidate for the PPDB coalition. Describing him as a ‘total loss’, Kolarova identified Kandev as the weak figure in the political tandem alongside Gyurow. She suggested that Kandev would likely have a minimal role in public discourse and expressed doubt regarding his ability to participate effectively in election debates.
In addition to the candidate assessment, analysts noted potential factors influencing the upcoming elections. There is concern regarding the potential for vote fragmentation caused by radical niche parties. Experts also highlighted that voter turnout, particularly among supporters of GERB who did not vote in the first round, will be a decisive factor in the election outcome. The absence of candidates from certain political forces and the silence of the DPS party were also noted as significant elements of the current political landscape.
