Bulgarian political experts suggest GERB and DPS will decide presidential runoff
Political analysts suggest that the outcome of the Bulgarian presidential election runoff will largely depend on the decisions and potential negotiations of the GERB and DPS parties.
Communications expert Diana Damyanova noted that agreements reached through political mediation could impact Boyko Borisov's authority within his own party. She highlighted the highly organized structure of the DPS as a significant factor. Meanwhile, political psychologist Prof. Antoaneta Hristova observed that both Borisov and Peevski are positioned for potential discussions regarding the second round.
GERB leader Boyko Borisov addressed the election process, stating that the party will make decisions regarding support for candidates only after the first round has concluded. He attributed low voter turnout to the lack of a candidate perceived as a national unifier.
