Bulgarian politician Mirchev alleges political coalition between Iyotova and Vazrazhdane

Ivaylo Mirchev, co-chairman of 'Da, Bulgaria', has accused Iliana Iyotova and the Bulgarian Socialist Party (BSP) of forming a political coalition with the 'Vazrazhdane' party following the first round of the presidential election.

Mirchev highlighted a shift in stance by Kostadin Kostadinov, leader of 'Vazrazhdane', who recently demanded Iyotova's resignation from the presidential race but has now signaled that 'Vazrazhdane' voters will support her instead of Gyurov.

Mirchev raised questions regarding the ideological consistency of Iyotova, noting that while she has support from the Party of European Socialists (PES), she is also receiving backing from 'Vazrazhdane', a party aligned with the Alternative for Germany (AfD) in the European Parliament. He questioned how a candidate from the European socialist family can reconcile this with the 'cordon sanitaire' maintained by pro-European forces against the group to which AfD belongs.
