Bulgarian politicians' asset declarations reveal significant wealth

Recent asset declarations from Bulgarian public officials, published by the National Audit Office, reveal significant wealth and property holdings among political leaders.

Delyan Peevski, leader of DPS, declared a dividend of approximately 8.94 million euros for the past year. His filings also include over 370,000 euros in cash, nearly 403,000 euros in bank accounts, and various investments. He listed several properties, including houses and apartments, which he uses via rental agreements.

Other notable declarations include: - Boyko Borisov (GERB): Declared over 574,000 euros in cash and bank savings, with an income of 162,987 euros. - Iliana Jotova (President): Reported over 575,000 euros in bank accounts and family deposits. - Rumen Radev (Prime Minister): Declared 286,100 euros in bank accounts and various investments.

Interior Minister Ivan Demerdzhiev's filings show substantial cash holdings of 400,000 euros and 265,892 euros in bank accounts. His declarations include 10 personal properties and 8 land plots, including several apartments in Plovdiv. Discrepancies were noted in the declared value of one of his Plovdiv apartments across different filing years.
