Bulgarian public buildings to be lit in green and red for lymphoma awareness

Public buildings across Bulgaria will be illuminated in green and red to mark World Lymphoma Awareness Day and the 20th anniversary of the Lymphom Bulgaria association. The lighting initiative aims to support those fighting blood cancers.

Under the campaign, buildings will glow red to symbolize the battle against oncohematological diseases or green to represent the fight against lymphoma. The Vratsa Municipality has committed to lighting its building in green. The initiative is supported by the National Association of Municipalities in the Republic of Bulgaria.

In Sofia, the municipality and Metropolitan EAD will broadcast short video clips on subway station screens to mark the association's two decades of service. Lymphoma and leukemia remain significant challenges; in Bulgaria, there are approximately 6,000 registered patients, with over 1,500 new cases identified annually. Experts note that lymphomas are often difficult to diagnose because symptoms frequently mimic influenza or other inflammatory conditions.
