Bulgarian Red Cross demonstrates first aid skills in Plovdiv
Teams from the Bulgarian Red Cross in Plovdiv demonstrated first aid skills during World First Aid Day celebrations. The event featured a large open lesson on road safety organized by the Trakia district municipality, held in front of the Kolodruma hall with over 100 children in attendance.
Mobile health teams and youth emergency units demonstrated techniques for treating various injuries and traumas. Volunteers also introduced elements of the ‘Helphy’ program, an initiative developed by the Austrian Red Cross designed to teach basic emergency skills to primary school students.
The demonstration was observed by representatives from the Canadian Red Cross, who are currently in Bulgaria on a working visit. Their visit is part of a joint program with the Bulgarian Red Cross to establish mobile health teams capable of responding to disasters, accidents, and emergencies within the country.
