Bulgarian Supreme Judicial Council sends investigation into ‘Notaryus’ case to Parliament
The Judicial College of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) has unanimously decided to transfer all materials and the final report from its temporary commission to the National Assembly. The investigation was launched to examine the potential involvement of judges in the case surrounding the deceased Martin Bojanov, known as ‘the Notaryus’.
The decision follows a formal request from Members of Parliament Nadezhda Yordanova and Bozhidar Bozhanov of the ‘Democratic Bulgaria’ group. In addition to providing the documents to lawmakers, the SJC will publish the report on its official website. To comply with legal requirements, all personal data will be redacted before the documents are released to the public.
The temporary commission was established to investigate allegations of judicial complicity in the Bojanov case. The process included a two-hour debate regarding the redaction of names and the absence of a final analytical report prior to the vote.
