Bulgarian teacher proposes 100-page weekly reading goal

Miglena Klimova, a Bulgarian language teacher at the National School of Applied Arts in Troyan, has launched an initiative encouraging sixth-grade students to read 100 pages of literature per week.

Klimova aims to spark interest in books and combat the influence of digital scrolling and artificial intelligence on children's values. She believes that engaging with fiction will enrich students' vocabulary, stimulate their imagination, and improve cognitive development across all school subjects. The teacher noted that while the goal is ambitious, she approaches it with hope that literature can serve as a tool for personal and intellectual growth.
