Bulgarian writer Georgi Gospodinov cited by German newspaper

The German newspaper Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung recently published an article mentioning Bulgarian author Georgi Gospodinov among writers who deserve the Nobel Prize in Literature. Publisher Manol Peykov clarified that this article does not constitute an official Nobel nomination, as the Swedish Academy keeps nomination discussions confidential for 50 years.

Peykov noted that while the article is not a formal nomination, it serves as a significant recognition from one of Europe’s most prestigious newspapers. He emphasized that international success for Bulgarian authors requires a long-term process involving literary agents, translators, and foreign publishers to build global authority and manage rights.
