Bulgaria's Alexander Pulev guarantees lowest fuel prices in Europe

Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Investment and Industry Alexander Pulev has guaranteed that Bulgarian citizens will have the lowest fuel prices in Europe. He stated that the government is implementing a set of measures totaling 300 million euros designed to support all consumers, with specific graduated assistance for the most vulnerable populations.

Pulev addressed the ongoing global energy crisis, noting that geopolitical processes remain outside the government's control and that much of the world's energy extraction infrastructure has been destroyed. He warned of continued uncertainty for 6 to 12 months following any potential conclusion to conflicts involving the US and Iran.

Regarding domestic fuel security, Pulev confirmed that the Lukoil refinery is operating at nearly 100% capacity. He also noted that the Commission for Protection of Competition (CPC) is conducting a rapid inspection of the refinery regarding pricing, and he has communicated with the refinery's management to ensure full cooperation. Additionally, Pulev emphasized that Bulgaria will not nationalize foreign assets, advocating for a model of respecting private property and engaging in dialogue with strategic partners.
