Bulgaria's National Statistical Institute launches unified business portal

The National Statistical Institute (NSI) of Bulgaria is implementing a unified electronic portal for businesses to streamline data submission. Starting January 1, 2027, annual activity reports, annual financial reports, and declarations under Article 38 of the Accounting Act must be submitted exclusively online through the NSI information system.

The NSI has initiated an information campaign and sent electronic notifications to approximately 500,000 companies across the country. The new system will be integrated with the ‘Single Entry Point’ information system, which will also include the Registry Agency.

Access to the portal requires registration via a Qualified Electronic Signature (hardware, mobile, or cloud-based) or the E-authentication system of the Ministry of Innovation and Digital Transformation. Individuals may also register using a Personal Identification Code (PIC) from the National Revenue Agency. Business owners and managers have the option to authorize employees or other legal entities to submit reports on their behalf, with provisions for sub-authorization.
