Bulgaria's Supreme Judicial Council receives 12 new member nominations

Twelve new nominations for elected members of the Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) from the judges' quota have been announced.

The candidates include one Supreme Administrative Court judge and four other judicial leaders. Notable nominees include Mladen Dimitrov, President of the Veliko Tarnovo District Court; Veselka Zlateva-Kozhuharova, President of the Pazardzhik Administrative Court; Maria Terziyska, Deputy President of the Varna District Court; and Todor Todorov, a judge at the Supreme Administrative Court.

Nominating judges emphasized the need for members with proven professional authority, administrative capacity, and a deep understanding of judicial challenges such as independence, staffing, and workload distribution. For instance, Mladen Dimitrov was supported by judges from multiple courts in the Veliko Tarnovo region, citing his 25 years of experience and administrative expertise.
