Bulhoe-sa Temple to host Autumn Mountain Temple Cultural Festival
Bulhoe-sa Temple, located at the foot of Deokryongsan Mountain in Naju, will host the ‘2026 Autumn Mountain Temple Cultural Festival’ on November 8. The event is part of the ‘2026 Traditional Mountain Temple National Heritage Utilization Project,’ organized by the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism and hosted by Naju City and the Cultural Heritage Administration.
The festival aims to share the stories of the temple’s five major national heritages, including the Daeungjeon Hall and the Geonchil Birojana Buddha statue, through various cultural programs. A central highlight is the ‘Chunchu Birodahoe’ autumn concert, featuring folk music, opera, and fusion Gugak, which will be broadcast live on YouTube.
Visitors can participate in seven different experiential programs, such as forest walks, a cultural heritage treasure hunt, and hands-on activities like coloring Arhat statues or making tiger balloons. The temple also plans to offer free tastings of traditional Biro tea to attendees.
