Bulkhead Interactive CEO calls for higher video game prices
Joe Brammer, CEO of Bulkhead Interactive, has advocated for higher video game prices, arguing that current costs are too low relative to the rising expenses of game development. Brammer noted that major releases like GTA 6 missed an opportunity to raise industry standards for pricing, which may lead to continued economic instability and layoffs within the sector.
Bulkhead's military shooter, Wardogs, is currently utilizing a scalable pricing model during its early access period on PC. The game is currently priced at approximately $40, but the developers plan to increase the price as more content, systems, and updates are added. The price is expected to rise to $49.99 around the 12-month mark when version 0.5 is released.
Additionally, the studio announced that the second season of Wardogs is scheduled to debut on October 15. This new season will feature a progress reset for players, a mechanic intended to level the playing field for new users but one that has received mixed reactions from the community.
