Bull and Schwarz Digits partner for European sovereign AI and cloud infrastructure

Bull and Schwarz Digits have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop an independent European ecosystem for AI and cloud infrastructure. The partnership aims to provide organizations in regulated and strategic sectors with a dedicated sovereign AI architecture, ensuring that sensitive data, infrastructure, and workflows remain under European jurisdiction.

Schwarz Digits will contribute its STACKIT cloud infrastructure, which focuses on storing and processing data entirely within Europe. Bull will provide expertise in high-performance computing (HPC) and AI, including manufacturing capabilities and direct liquid cooling technology. The hardware for the project will be manufactured at Bull’s facility in Angers, France.

The collaboration intends to integrate the BullSequana AI platform into the STACKIT Marketplace, offering an open and modular environment for both public and private sector clients. Bernie Wagner, CRO of Schwarz Digits, stated the alliance establishes a Franco-German foundation for enterprise AI that allows organizations to maintain data sovereignty without sacrificing computing performance.
