Bull Sharks swimmers lead Australia to record medal haul at Pan Pacs
Australian swimmers associated with Bond University’s Bull Sharks played a central role in a record-breaking performance at the Pan Pacific Championships in Irvine, California. Australia concluded the meet with a total of 35 medals, including 15 golds, surpassing the eight gold medals won at the 2018 championships in Tokyo.
Ben Armbruster secured Australia’s first gold medal of the event in the men’s 50m butterfly with a time of 22.75 seconds. He later added a silver medal in the 100m butterfly. In the women’s events, the 4 x 200m freestyle relay team—comprising Lani Pallister, Inez Miller, Hannah Casey, and Milla Jansen—won gold. The team set a new Pan Pacific Championships record with a time of 7:42.40, finishing ahead of the United States team led by Katie Ledecky.
