Bullfighting festivals in Alicante, Badajoz and Algeciras showcase top matadors

In Alicante, Morante de la Puebla delivered a strong performance at the Feria Real, cutting an ear from each of two bulls, while Alejandro Talavante received two ears from a less decisive showing on a "Revolucionario" bull. The event highlighted criticism of the presidential palco’s ear‑awarding decisions.

Badajoz’s afternoon featured Morante, Talavante and David de Miranda. Miranda earned two ears after a decisive kill of the bull “Corregido”, and Morante and Talavante each secured ovations despite mixed bull quality. The day was noted for high audience attendance and several ovations.

At the Feria Real of Algeciras, hometown favorite David Galván returned to his home circuit, Tomás Rufo made his debut in Las Palomas, and Marco Pérez, after a previous injury, completed a comeback. Galván’s earlier triumph had earned three ears and a "hombros" finish; Pérez’s return was framed as a closure of a long‑standing disappointment.

Across the three venues, the festivals emphasized traditional bullfighting rites, ear awards, and the prominence of veteran matadors alongside emerging talent.
