Bulukumba diesel hoarding investigation faces delays
The investigation into the October 2026 raid of a subsidized diesel hoarding warehouse in Bijawang Village, Bulukumba, remains stalled. Despite the seizure of thousands of liters of subsidized fuel, the Bulukumba Police Criminal Investigation Unit has not yet named any suspects.
AKP Andi Imran Hamid, Head of the Bulukumba Police Criminal Investigation Unit, stated that the delay is due to pending testimony from expert witnesses. This slow progress has fueled public speculation regarding potential involvement or protection by local and regional police officers, following claims made by the warehouse owner.
Previously, the warehouse was discovered by a local resident, Parawansyah, who reported the location to the Bulukumba Police Chief. However, allegations suggest that information may have leaked to the warehouse owner, identified by the initials AB, who reportedly claimed the illegal business was being protected by authorities.
