Bumble user data allegedly for sale on darknet

A seller on an underground forum is allegedly offering data from 110 million Bumble accounts for sale on the darknet for 300 USD. While Bumble reports having over 40 million active users, the claimed dataset significantly exceeds this figure.

Researchers from Cybernews analyzed 36 samples from the dataset, which included phone numbers, email addresses, demographic information, and dating profile details. Although the low asking price is considered a red flag, the samples appeared to contain authentic data, with some timestamps extending as far as August 2026, suggesting the information may not be recycled old data.

Experts warn that such a leak could facilitate personalized fraud, identity theft, and romance scams. There are also heightened concerns regarding harassment and physical safety risks for queer users if dating-related information is exposed.
