Buna Vestire Church in Iași hosts heritage preservation event

The Buna Vestire Church in Iași held an open doors event on September 29, 2026, to promote the preservation of its historical heritage. Organized in partnership with the Mihai Eminescu National College, the event was part of a project to develop technical documentation for the restoration, consolidation, and arrangement of the church.

The project is co-financed by the National Institute of Heritage (INP) under the “Historical Monuments Stamp” program. Approximately 30 participants, including students, took a guided tour of the church, which was founded by Ioan Tăutu and his wife, Maria. The tour highlighted the 19th-century mural paintings, specific architectural styles, and the history of the site.
