Bundesliga ticket demand reaches record highs amid stadium attendance boom

The German Bundesliga is experiencing a significant surge in spectator demand, reaching a record 21.4 million tickets sold across the top two divisions in the previous season. This boom has led to high stadium occupancy, with 16 of the 18 Bundesliga clubs maintaining an attendance rate of over 90 percent.

However, this popularity has made it increasingly difficult for fans to secure tickets, particularly for non-members. Many clubs prioritize season ticket holders and club members before offering any remaining seats to the general public. At Union Berlin, tickets are primarily distributed via a lottery among members, often leaving virtually no availability for open sales.

Other clubs facing extreme demand include FC Bayern München and VfB Stuttgart. For a high-profile match between Bayern München and Borussia Dortmund, club officials reported approximately 330,000 orders, necessitating lottery systems to manage the overwhelming interest.
