German police turn back seven Bangladeshi youths at Goldene Bremm border

On the evening of 28 June 2026 German federal police stopped a French‑registered car at the Goldene Bremm crossing on the A6 near Saarbrücken. The vehicle carried a 36‑year‑old Bangladeshi driver and seven passengers, all Bangladeshi youths aged 16‑18. The driver presented valid documents, but the youths could not produce the required entry papers. They claimed they were travelling on a one‑day trip to Vienna, yet no booking or accommodation evidence was provided.

Police investigators questioned the plausibility of the trip and, citing missing documentation, opened a criminal case for attempted illegal entry against the seven minors. Their entry was denied and they were immediately returned to France. The driver, who said he had been paid €3,000 for the journey, volunteered to drive the group back to Paris and now faces a separate investigation on suspicion of people‑smuggling.

The incident highlights renewed border checks along Germany’s western frontier and the authorities’ readiness to intervene in suspected migration smuggling operations.
