Bundesstraße 76 reconstruction near Scharbeutz and Timmendorfer Strand set for Aug‑Oct 2026

The Landesbetrieb Straßenbau und Verkehr Schleswig‑Holstein (LBV SH) will fully close and rebuild the damaged section of Bundesstraße 76 between Scharbeutz and Timmendorfer Strand from 31 August to 31 October 2026. The work, divided into six construction phases, will be carried out under full road closure for safety, labour protection and quality reasons. Detour routes have been coordinated with police, traffic authorities, local municipalities and the bus operator; public transport will remain largely operational while police and emergency services may still use the site.

The federal government will fund the project, covering an estimated cost of about €3.6 million. Drivers are warned to expect longer travel times due to the extensive detours, especially during the summer holiday period when the Baltic‑Sea resorts attract many visitors.
