Bunge y Born Foundation awards three Argentine chemists

The 2026 Bunge y Born Foundation Prizes have recognized three Argentine scientists in the field of chemistry for their significant social and international contributions.

Dr. Omar Azzaroni, a researcher at CONICET and professor at the National University of La Plata, received the top award. His work in nanotechnology and polymers includes the development of a portable device for diagnosing chronic kidney disease, which has been validated at the San Martín Hospital in La Plata.

The Stimulus Prize was awarded to two researchers. Dr. Daiana Capdevila, a CONICET researcher and laboratory head at the Leloire Institute, was honored for her advancements in biochemistry and molecular mechanisms, specifically regarding biosensors for health and environmental monitoring. Dr. Marcos Tascon, a specialist in analytical chemistry and mass spectrometry from the National University of San Martín, also received the Stimulus Prize for his work in analytical innovation.
