Bungie Extends Destiny 2 'Vault Breaker' PvE Mode and Releases Minor Patch

Bungie announced that the limited‑time PvE mode Vault Breaker in Destiny 2's Marathon will remain live until August 18, extended from the previously scheduled August 4 shutdown. The studio said strong player engagement and feedback on the Cryo Archive map prompted the extension. Vault Breaker is a roguelite run playable solo, in duos or trios, rewarding Vault Data that can be used for permanent Sponsored Kit upgrades.

On July 28 the company also pushed a small update (version 1.196/4.01) during a brief server downtime. The patch contains a minor display fix for expansion pricing and a few UI tweaks, with no new content and no formal changelog released.
