Bungie reassures fans that Marathon extraction mode remains a priority

Bungie Game Director Del Chafe has reassured players that the extraction mode remains a central component of the game Marathon. This statement follows concerns raised after the developers released a new roadmap introducing PvE and deathmatch modes.

While the upcoming Symbiosis update in December will bring new experimental PvP and PvE modes, Chafe stated, “We want to be clear, Extraction is still a major part of Marathon, and we're also going to continue updating it as we look to the future of the game.”

In response to the announcement, community members and streamers highlighted several issues within the current extraction mode, including spawn rushes, harsh death spirals, and strategies centered on lobby wiping. The development team has indicated they are seeking community feedback to address these gameplay concerns.
