Bungie seeks to sublease Bellevue headquarters following layoffs
Bungie is seeking to sublease approximately 211,000 square feet of its headquarters in Bellevue, Washington. The studio confirmed it is exploring options for the space, which includes specialized facilities such as motion capture studios, streaming suites, audio rooms, and fitness areas. The master lease for the property is set to run through September 30, 2035.
The company stated that the decision reflects a transition to a “digital-first” model and evolving workplace needs following several years of remote collaboration. Despite the sublease, Bungie intends to maintain a physical office presence in Bellevue.
This move follows several rounds of significant workforce reductions. Following Sony’s $3.7 billion acquisition in 2022, the studio has undergone multiple restructurings, including layoffs in October 2023, July 2024, and a further reduction of 292 employees in June 2026. These cuts have impacted teams working on major titles such as Destiny 2 and Marathon.
