Bunkyo City to host breaking dance workshop for children

Bunkyo City will host its third breaking dance workshop for parents and children on September 5, 2026, at the Bunkyo Gakuin University Hongo Campus. The event aims to promote the appeal of breaking, following increased interest after its inclusion in the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Professional dancer RAM (Raime Kawai), a 2023 graduate of Bunkyo Gakuin University, will serve as the instructor. RAM, a gold medalist from the 2018 Youth Olympics, will perform and provide direct instruction to local children. The collaboration between Bunkyo City and the university seeks to enhance regional sports initiatives and community engagement through dance.
