Bunmeido Tokyo launches Doraemon birthday dorayaki and castella with new packaging

Japanese confectionery maker Bunmeido Tokyo announced the release of limited‑edition Doraemon birthday treats. The Doraemon‑themed dorayaki, featuring a new celebratory design, will begin sales on 31 July 2026, while the Doraemon birthday castella cake follows on 1 August 2026. Both items are offered in updated, water‑blue packaging that highlights the character’s iconic colour.

The dorayaki comes in a five‑piece box, using a soft wheat dough filled with homemade Hokkaido red‑bean paste, and the castella is made with honey‑scented honey cake batter for a moist texture. Prices start at ¥184 for a single dorayaki, ¥1,188 for the five‑piece box, and ¥1,296 for the castella. The products will be sold sequentially at Bunmeido’s online shop, its flagship stores, and selected supermarkets across Japan, with availability expected through early September.
