BUP Skaraborg implements new treatment model for ADHD and behavioral disorders

BUP Skaraborg has implemented a new integrated treatment model designed to support families dealing with ADHD and oppositional defiant disorder. The approach combines the KOMET parental education program with the Coping Power Program (CPP), which is specifically tailored for children aged 8 to 12.

By addressing both parents and children simultaneously, the initiative aims to improve emotional regulation, problem-solving, and social skills. Specialist psychologist Britt-Marie Ljungström noted that while parental support is vital, approximately one-third of families require direct interventions for the child to effectively manage anger, conflict, and behavioral issues.
