Burckhardt Compression to supply compressors for MTU test facility

Burckhardt Compression has secured an order from MTU Maintenance Berlin-Brandenburg to supply two high-speed compressor solutions for a gas turbine test facility in Ludwigsfelde, Germany.

The facility conducts performance tests as part of maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) services for industrial gas turbine engines. While currently operating with natural gas, the site is being prepared to handle hydrogen-natural gas blends of up to 25%, supporting the transition toward lower-carbon energy systems.

The Ludwigsfelde location serves as the MTU network’s MRO specialist for GE Aerospace’s LMTM-Series industrial gas turbines. A new production building is also under construction at the site to meet increasing maintenance demand and support European energy security and grid stability.
