Bureau of Immigration arrests two overstaying foreigners in Bohol
The Bureau of Immigration (BI) arrested two foreign nationals for overstaying in separate operations conducted in Bohol last month. The arrests were carried out by the BI’s Regional Intelligence Operations Unit 7 in coordination with the Panglao and Inabanga municipal police stations.
The individuals arrested were identified as 35-year-old German national Florian Clemens Alexander Klingler in Panglao, and 43-year-old Bulgarian national Dimitar Tsakov Maknev in Inabanga. Both men were found to have violated their stay conditions. Klingler could only provide visa extension receipts, while Maknev failed to present any immigration documentation during the operation.
BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado stated that these operations demonstrate active immigration enforcement across the country and emphasized that the agency will continue to locate and deport foreign nationals who disregard immigration laws.
