Bureau of Immigration blocks Romanian national at NAIA

The Philippine Bureau of Immigration (BI) intercepted and excluded a 46-year-old Romanian national, Razvan Mircea Nedelea, upon his arrival at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 on September 22.

Intelligence reports identified Nedelea, also known as Razvan Necule, as a member of a Romanian criminal group involved in trafficking women to Scotland. He had a prior conviction and sentence for procuring women for prostitution.

The interception was facilitated by the BI APIS Operations Center (APOC), which detected Nedelea’s travel information on a Qatar Airways flight nearly nine hours before his arrival. Following coordination between the APOC and the Anti-Terrorist Group (ATG), immigration officers recommended his exclusion and return to his country of origin. BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado stated that the bureau will continue to use intelligence and inter-agency coordination to prevent the entry of foreign nationals who pose risks to public safety.
