Burendag Celebrations Planned Across Dordrecht Neighborhoods

On Saturday 26 September 2026, Dordrecht will host a nationwide Burendag (Neighbour Day) with residents, churches and local initiatives organizing a range of activities such as street‑side coffee, barbecues, games, clean‑up actions and prayer gatherings. The event, launched in 2006 by Douwe Egberts and the Oranje Fonds, aims to strengthen neighbourly ties and safety in communities.

Missie Dordt is offering support through a coffee trailer, an ice‑cream bike and a “Noah’s Ark” inflatables, which groups can request by emailing reservations@missiedordt.nl. Additional resources and possible financial contributions are available from the Oranje Fonds for qualifying projects. Organisers encourage early reservations as supplies are limited.
