Burg Schwarzenfels elects new treasurer and announces maintenance

During the recent castle assembly at Burg Schwarzenfels, Manuela Fischer was elected as the new treasurer, succeeding Heike Gerlach. Fischer will join the existing leadership circle, which includes Burgherr Thomas Dorn, Burgvogt Wilhelm Merx, and Burgschreiber Johannes Ulrich.

Regarding site maintenance, the state of Hessen has completed the cleaning of pigeon droppings from the attic. Additionally, the attic has been cleared of debris. Upcoming masonry repairs are planned to fix crumbling joints in the castle ruins, though these works are expected to have minimal impact on site visits.

Scheduled upcoming events include a Christmas market on November 29 and 30, 2025, and a castle revitalization event on June 27 and 28, 2026.
