Burgas, Bulgaria to host Eurovision Song Contest 2027

The selection season for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest has officially begun as of September 1. The 71st edition of the competition will be hosted in Burgas, Bulgaria, following Dara’s victory in Vienna. The event is scheduled to take place on May 11, 13, and 15, 2027.

New regulations for the competition include a minimum age requirement of 18 for performers. To be eligible, songs must be original and cannot have been previously released or publicly performed in any capacity before the official release date.

Several nations have already begun their preparations. Albania's RTSH has confirmed its intention to participate, with the Festivali i Këngës expected to serve as the selection process. Canada is also noted as a potential debutant. Meanwhile, Italy is reportedly planning changes to its selection method, moving away from automatically sending the Sanremo winner to the contest.
