Burgas Children's Hospital Launches Free Preventive Exams for Kids
The St. Anastasia Hospital in Burgas will begin free preventive medical examinations for children on 5 August, running daily until the end of the month from 09:00 to 16:00. The program covers 18 specialties, including pediatric gastroenterology, general pediatrics, surgery, oncology, orthopedics, traumatology and urology. Hospital director Dr Blagomir Zdravkov said the initiative will be extended if demand is high and noted that a contract with the National Health Insurance Fund is expected to be signed this month, after which the hospital can admit patients on a planned basis.
He highlighted the hospital’s modern facilities – new scanners, MRI equipment and a pediatric intensive care unit that meets European standards – and mentioned plans to train pediatric surgeons abroad for potential robotic surgery use. Staff from across Bulgaria have already been recruited, ensuring the department is fully operational.
