Burgas hosts eco-carnival and ancient history exhibition

Burgas is hosting several cultural and educational events. On October 29, the annual ‘Sea Creatures’ Eco-Carnival will take place at the College of Tourism. Organized by the ‘Celestin Frenne’ Private Primary School in partnership with the Burgas Municipality, the event features children parading in costumes made from recycled materials. The carnival aims to promote environmental awareness and the protection of the Black Sea, marking the lead-up to International Black Sea Day on October 31.

Additionally, the Regional History Museum in Burgas is launching an exhibition titled ‘The Flame That Survived Through the Centuries.’ The display focuses on ancient clay lamps used for lighting before electricity, showcasing the evolution of these vessels from Hellenistic styles to Roman and early Christian designs. The museum will also host educational sessions for local students from November 16 to 27 to teach them about ancient ceramic production and archaeological methods.
