Burgas Municipality Social Service Ranked Among Bulgaria’s Best

The social service operated by Burgas Municipality was placed second among the national good‑practice awards for high‑quality, effective social services, as announced by the Agency for Quality of Social Services (AKSU). The accolade recognises the remote home‑support programme for adults with mental disorders that the municipality developed for the Centre for Social Rehabilitation and Integration of Persons with Mental Disorders in Burgas.

The programme provides structured daily routines, weekly social‑skill training and art‑therapy modules delivered through individual home‑based plans, telephone and online communication with specialists, and guidance on healthy living and emotional stability. An internal survey reported that more than 80 % of participants consider the remote support useful for organising daily life, developing social skills and receiving timely professional help.
