Burgas police chase ends in crash and drug arrests
A high-speed police pursuit in the Burgas region ended with a crash and the arrest of two men. The incident began when a patrol spotted a vehicle driving erratically and traveling at speeds between 180 and 200 km/h. The driver refused to stop, driving into oncoming traffic and running a red light in Kableshkovo.
The chase concluded in the village of Bryastovets when the vehicle entered an unpaved road and struck an embankment. During the arrest, police used tasers and physical force to subdue the suspects, who reportedly resisted. No injuries to citizens or officers were reported.
The 37-year-old driver, who was previously caught for similar offenses in 2024, tested positive for amphetamines and methamphetamine. His 28-year-old passenger was also detained after police found a suspected crystalline narcotic during a search. Both men were held for 24 hours before being released pending further legal proceedings.
