Burgas prepares to host Eurovision 2027 amid logistics planning
Preparations are underway in Burgas to host the Eurovision Song Contest 2027. Local officials and the Minister of Transport are focusing on logistics, including improving air, rail, and bus connections. Plans include increasing flights to Burgas Airport and enhancing transport links such as the Istanbul-Sofia route to support the event.
Work has begun on clearing the designated site for ‘Eurovillage’ near the Burgas Port, a location chosen for its proximity to the city center and public transport hubs. Additionally, preparatory and renovation activities have started in the city center and at the Arena Burgas sports hall, which is intended to host the main event.
Despite recent media speculation suggesting that security concerns in the Black Sea region might force the contest to move to Sofia or another country, sources close to the preparations and Bulgarian National Television (BNT) have denied these claims. Reports from Eurovisionfun indicate that preparations are proceeding according to plan and that rumors regarding pressure from the UK or Spain to change the host city are unfounded.
