Burgas road accident leaves 12 injured after wild boar collision

Twelve people were injured in a multi-vehicle accident on the road between Burgas and the village of Marinka, near the Kraymorie junction, on August 16. The incident began when a Seat Ibiza struck a wild boar that had suddenly entered the roadway. The impact deployed the vehicle's airbags and left it stalled in the opposing lane.

A Nishikli bus stopped behind the disabled car to provide assistance. As several passengers exited the bus to attempt to push the Seat toward the roadside, a Volkswagen Golf driven by a 71-year-old man struck both the stationary vehicle and the pedestrians.

The driver of the Volkswagen suffered a broken sternum, while his 71-year-old wife and 47-year-old daughter sustained chest and rib injuries, respectively. Additionally, nine people from the bus were injured, including two women from Tvarditsa, a man from Yasna Polyana, and six Turkish citizens aged between 21 and 46.

Eight victims were taken to a hospital for various injuries, with six admitted for treatment. One woman was transported to UMBAL-Burgas with a concussion. Authorities reported that none of the injuries are life-threatening. The accident caused significant traffic disruptions, requiring vehicles to be diverted through Meden Rudnik and Dimchevo.
