Burgas to receive 4.8 million euros for Eurovision 2027 preparations
The Bulgarian Government has allocated over 4.8 million euros to the Burgas Municipality to support the preparation and hosting of the 71st Eurovision Song Contest in May 2027. This funding is part of a larger planned budget of 20 million euros for the event's organization.
The allocated funds will cover organizational and technical requirements, including infrastructure, transport, accommodation, logistics, and the promotion of Bulgaria. A key focus of the preparations will be the Arena Burgas, specifically regarding its acoustics, technical equipment, and theatrical layout. The municipality also plans to hold a test event at the arena to ensure equipment readiness before the main competition.
Bulgaria was selected as the host following Dara’s victory in Vienna. The contest is viewed by the Council of Ministers as a strategic investment capable of providing significant economic and reputational benefits to the country.
