Burgas hosts W50 international women's tennis tournament

The W50 international women's tennis tournament is currently taking place at the Avenue Tennis Club in Burgas, Bulgaria, featuring a prize pool of $40,000.

Bulgarian players, including those who recently earned promotion to Group I of the Billie Jean King Cup, are heavily represented in the competition. Galena Kraste nova successfully navigated the qualifying rounds, defeating compatriot Angelina Kostova in a three-set match (3:6, 6:2, 6:4) to secure a spot in the main draw.

Following the second qualifying round, a total of ten Bulgarian women have advanced to the main singles draw. Additionally, 16 Bulgarian players are participating in the doubles competition. The tournament is part of the World Tennis Tour, with the next event of this rank scheduled to be held in Stara Zagora in October.
