Burgdorf to host ‘Walk on the Riverside’ guided tour

Stadtmarketing Burgdorf, in collaboration with the VVV-Arbeitskreis Aue, is launching a new guided tour titled ‘Walk on the Riverside’ on August 30. The event aims to combine nature, local history, and live music.

The two-hour tour begins at 2:00 PM at the Wicken-Thies-Brunnen on Spittaplatz. The route travels through Mühlenstraße, past the castle and the Gümmekanal, to the former bathing establishment and the Auestufen. Participants will receive historical insights into the development of the Aue landscape from a quartet of guides.

Musical accompaniment will be provided by the marching band ‘Die Marshmallows,’ featuring clarinet, banjo, and baritone saxophone. The band will perform a variety of genres, including pop, film music, swing, and 1920s Charleston, throughout the walk.
