Burgenland agricultural schools to undergo reform via AgriNEXT project

Agricultural vocational schools in Burgenland, Austria, are set to undergo reforms through the “AgriNEXT” project. The initiative aims to evaluate and modernize the curriculum at the technical schools in Güssing and Eisenstadt to better prepare students for challenges such as climate change, digitalization, and new production methods.

While student numbers have remained relatively stable—with approximately 90 students in Eisenstadt and 60 in Güssing—the project seeks to address demographic pressures and ensure local competitiveness. Currently, the province pays tuition fees to neighboring states for Burgenland students attending schools elsewhere. The one-year development process will analyze labor market trends to determine necessary adjustments to the educational offerings.
