Burgenland Energie launches Countdown 2030 podcast to chart path to energy independence

Austrian utility Burgenland Energie has begun a multi‑year video and audio podcast series titled “COUNTDOWN 2030”. Hosted by moderator Christian Baier, the series features CEO Stephan Sharma discussing how the Burgenland region can become energy‑independent and climate‑neutral by 2030. Topics include supply security, expansion of wind, solar, storage and grid infrastructure, and the impact on municipalities, businesses and citizens.

The episodes are released on YouTube, major podcast platforms and the Burgenland Energie app. Sharma said, “2030 is not a distant future; with this countdown we show how we push towards energy independence day by day.” The series aims to provide transparent insight into the steps and challenges of the region’s energy transition.
