Burgenland energy study shows 94% satisfaction rate

A recent energy study conducted by the Institut für Strategieanalysen (ISA) indicates high public satisfaction with the energy supply in Burgenland, Austria. According to the results, 94 percent of respondents rated the energy supply positively, with 45 percent describing it as ‘very good’ and 49 percent as ‘rather good’.

The findings support the regional government's objective to achieve energy independence by 2030. This strategy involves reducing reliance on oil and gas imports by increasing the use of domestic wind and solar power for electricity, heating, and mobility.

Stephan Sharma, CEO of Burgenland Energie, noted that the region has undergone a significant transformation, moving from a model primarily focused on wind power to a comprehensive system incorporating photovoltaics, storage solutions, and energy communities. Governor Hans Peter Doskozil emphasized that the current results demonstrate that the population supports this transition toward renewable resources.
