Burgenland father receives 24,000 euro tax refund

A father of three from North Burgenland has received a total tax credit of 24,000 euros for the years 2023, 2024, and 2025. The significant refund was identified through a tax advisory service provided by the Chamber of Labour (AK) and the Austrian Trade Union Federation (ÖGB).

The high amount is attributed to a combination of several factors, including the family bonus, the sole earner tax credit, the multi-child supplement, and the commuter allowance. While experts note that five-figure refunds are exceptional cases, they emphasize that the advisory service has already helped members recover over 1.5 million euros in total through 1,128 consultations.

Officials from the AK and ÖGB stated that such services are particularly vital during periods of high inflation and rising prices to ensure workers do not miss out on entitled credits.
